Description: A diligent bunch of volunteers arrived outside the Grenadier Cafe on November 27th, ready to remove buckhorn plants in High Park. The rain didn't deter the gang of green thumbs who were there to rid the park of the highly invasive shrub. A large arsenal of pruners was laid out for the volunteers to do battle with the bushes. Buckhorn can form dense thickets and hinder the growth of native shrubs and herbs. While they pulled and lopped, the group chatted and reaped the benefits of fresh air and exercise. They also worked up an appetite for the delicious potluck lunch that awaited them at the park's greenhouse at the end of the work day. Would you like to help the High Park Stewards?
